Conversations at IBC 2024 – AI, E-Sports and Hybrid Cloud Workflows

2024 has been the year of innovation for many things, perhaps the most notable of these being AI. AI and ML have well and truly dominated the broadcast and media industry, with parts of the workflow including some form of AI implementation. In response to this, the team at Cinedeck have been exploring the ways in which AI might contribute to our endeavors, integrating automation and AI features into our ConneX Hub and CloudFlow Hub product offerings. We anticipate that many others will be focusing on similar advancements, and we are looking forward to seeing the newly announced AI Tech Zone at IBC 2024.

Joining AI in the trending club is esports, a hot topic off the back of the announcement that it will feature in the 2028 Olympic Games. The noise surrounding sports coverage and esports in the industry is highly anticipated, with many vendors and providers looking to invest in this sphere after the success of various sports broadcast projects. The growing influence and recognition of esports is undeniable, becoming more identifiable and widespread on a global scale.

Finally, the Cinedeck team have noticed a significant drive towards hybrid cloud workflows, with many media providers looking towards a hybrid cloud future for their solutions. With the ongoing demand for faster and more cost-effective delivery comes an urgent need for change, with many broadcasters looking to hybrid cloud developments as the ultimate answer. It will be interesting to see how media professionals are leveraging both on-prem and cloud-based resources, particularly the difference between the two in efficiency optimization and cost reduction.

Got a burning question? Book your meeting with the Cinedeck team at IBC 2024. We can’t wait to see you all, here’s to a great show!
